Nighthawk cm1200 and Sony Bravia

Looking for some help- thank you!

When connecting to WiFi:
Connected
Network does not have access to internet: failed

When connecting with an Ethernet cable or hotspot:
Connected
Network has access to internet

All other devices in my home connect to internet via WiFi without a problem.

I have unplugged and plugged in router, modem and tv in all sequences imaginable. I have factory reset tv- several times. Still no internet via WiFi.

I’ve read that there have been issues with Bravia and Netgear- but have not found a solution to fix the problem.

Pulling my hair out. Thanks for any assist.

    The CM1200 is a modem only device. 

    It has no routing capability. 

    So you need to go modem----->router---->devices

     

    And the vast majority of ISP's can only connect 1 device to the cm1200 (even though it has more ports). 

    So if you had more than 1 device connected, power off the modem and router and disconnect everything from both. 

    wait 2 minutes

    Power the modem on with nothing connected. 

    Wait 2 minutes

    connect port 1 on the modem to the router. 

    power the router on and wait 2 minutes. 

    go through setup on the router

      Thank you! Tried your great suggestions. Unfortunately no luck. I will either upgrade router or depend on Ethernet for this devise.
