No internet

The R8000 is not receiving the internet from the CM1200. This has happen now a couple of times and the reboots have fixed it. Currently I have not been able to get it to work. The CM1200 has internet because I can connect my PC directly to it and it works fine. This happen with the XR500 also. I am thinking it’s the CM1200 but it’s pretty new.... any suggestion? I thought the XR500 was the problem which I would rather have set back up.

Are you plugging multiple things into the cm1200?

I know it has multiple ports but unless you're running a business line or your isp allows multipe public ip addresses (most don't), your only given a single IP address and can only plug one device into the cm1200. you can use port 1 & 2 if your router supports link aggregation on the wan side. I'd try to avoid link aggregation at the current time as there's been several reported issues I've seen as well.

    So key points.

    1. Only plug a single device into the cm1200

    2. Don't use link aggregation right now.

    3. Power off modem and router. Boot in this order. Modme, give it a couple minutes. Hook up router. Boot it up. give it a couple minutes. then connect devices to it and see if itworks.

Thanks for the info. I did have my smart TV hooked up to the modem. It’s been a day so I ll see how it works.

Swap LAN cables between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.
