Password won't work

In trying to sign into the Genie or access my wifi cable modem, the standard log in won't take the password.

It says, FAILED, Check password.

    If you got to 192.168.0.1 in your web browser does the login of admin/password work?

      No, that won't work. It says password failed.

        Hello TxAnn

         

        Then it seems that the default password was changed at sometime and the only way to fix that is to factory reset the modem but this will lose all your settings and you will have to set up the modem again.
