poor modem speed
cm1200 modem getting less than half of the 600mbs speed promised comcast said they can't change a third party product and i must contact netgear for the solution. i sent a support request 3 days ago with no response. i've upgraded from cm500 to the cm1200, as recommended. no change. the router speed is the same as the modem speed. any help out there? gksharron@gmail.com

So you're paying for 600mbps?
What device are you testing with?
When you directly connect to the modem to test speeds, is any other device plugged into it?
What website are you using for testing?
do you have a screen snip of the cable connetions page?
Have you had them (xfinity) re-provision it?

So you're paying for 600mbps? yes
What device are you testing with? speedtest.xfinity and speedtest via the Nighthawk R7000P router that's connected to the modem.
When you directly connect to the modem to test speeds, is any other device plugged into it? i have connected directly to the modem, but speed is same as router. no other devices were on.
What website are you using for testing? Firefox and Safari
do you have a screen snip of the cable connetions page? where is that page to be found?
Have you had them (xfinity) re-provision it? i have reset modem, restarted modem, reactivated modem... re-provosion is a no. haven't been able to talk to a live person. close as i get is a live chat. no help there. was told to call netgear, because they can't go into 3rd party product for changes.

But there isn't anything to "change in the settings". Either the modem is provisioned correctly by the ISP or it isn't. If its provisioned correctly and the signal is good, the modem will get the speeds.
