R6220 Router potentially causing audio-drop on Discord program?
Purchased this router and a new modem, both Netgear, in 06/2019 and have since had an issue with the voice-chat program Discord. The issue I have is that randomly the voice chat audio will drop, requiring me to leave and rejoin a channel I am in to restore audio. I would like to clarify that none of my other background audio stops, including Spotify or Youtube videos, and the people in the channel continue to hear my voice through my microphone. I have gone through an extensive trouble-shooting process with Discord tech support and have ruled out the program as the source of the problem. Also, the problem began immediately after replacing my older modem/router combo. My ISP is Cox Communications, if that matters.
I am reasonably tech-savvy, but I have no experience with the technical jargon or processes of changing basic settings in a router or modem. Is it possible that I may be able to correct my issue with prioritization of the program in the QoS settings? If so, I could really use some help navigating this process.

What modem did you buy to go with it?
What firmware is on your router?
Is you device running discord wired in or running wireless?
What band are you connected to if its wireless?
Do you have discord on any of your other devices? if so, is it causing issues on them? if not, can you install it to a different device to test?
What device are you having issues with it on?
did you setup any qos or traffic monitoring on your router? if so, what all did you setup?
Many people play with settings when they're unsure about what they do. You might be surprised at how well default settings will run sometimes. have you just resetting back to stock and setting up the basic features like the internet connection and just wireless?

Updated the firmware on my router through the settings, because I was looking at it. I am now about two hours into a voice call without audio drop, so I am tentatively optimistic that that may have been my issue. Though prior to the firmware test, my laptop on the wireless network was also not reproducing the issue. The device I primarily use is a Windows 10 PC that is ethernet-wired into the router. Not sure why the laptop would have been free of audio drop with the previous firmware version, but I'll take it.
Thank you for your response!
