Seems IMPOSSIBLE to port open ports on a NETGEAR Nighthawk AX6 AX2700 (CAX30)

've been trying consistently for about over a month and change to get some ports opened on this modem router combo. no matter how many times i configure the port forwarding or port triggering or even use upnp i can't open a single port on this router. my primary os is linux but i've tried windows as well with and without firewalls on both enabled and even trying to enable dmz on the router which should theoretically open all ports nothing seems to work. when i run a port scan on most websites it says every port is closed. i even tried calling my isp (xfinity) and they're saying they don't block ports on their end.

uPnP should be disable prior to configuration of port forwarding.

What FW version is loaded on the CAX30?

      The latest firmware is installed.
So UPnP is interfering with port forwarding?

Yes. Long known that uPnP does most of the forwarding automatically. If any user or manual forwarding is needed, uPnP needs to be disabled first, then go in and configure forwarding rules.

at this point i dont think its even my fault. I've port forwarded plenty routers before (even with Upnp enabled) and they work, worst case scenario nothing a DMZ setting cant fix. but a month of troubleshooting and im nowhere. I might have to just plug back in 10 year old tp link with its custom firmware and get back to my remote work. That makes this netgear router a overpriced modem now

i read something on this site about someone having issues with this as well with having a NOip ddns configured? i have that setup, is that an issue?

Try with out the NoIP configuration.

Be sure your using something that is actively using the port your trying to configure.

What are you trying to configure for PF?
