Sequence for installing cm 1000 cable modem and orbi router - replacing Comcast modem/router

I am replacing my Comcast modem/router with the Netgear CM1000 modem and Orbi router. What is the specific sequence for installing?  I assume it is activation of modem followed by Orbi. Do I attach modem to Orbi - power on modem - activate modem - power on Orbi and then configure Orbi?

    best/easiest method.

    1. Power on just the modem and activate the modem with your laptop. verify you have Internet access via wired laptop

    2. power of the modem.

    3. connect the Orbi Router behind modem and also turn on Satellite.

    4. power on all 3 devices.

    5. configure Orbi.
