Why can't you reset the router to factory settings? Push the reset for 7+ seconds. Default username and password are "admin" and "password" respectively.

Ok so here is what I ended up doing to fix it -
In order to log on as "admin" with "password" you have to be connected to the router via wi-fi or ethernet. Since I didn't have an ethernet adaptor for my macbook pro, I had to find a way to connect to wi-fi. It turns out that on the C6300 there is a "connect with WPS" button. Mac OS doesn't allow you to connect to wi-fi via WiFi Protected Setup because it's vulnerable to attacks of some sort. So I used my handy-dandy dual-boot to Windows 10 and connected to the router via WPS on that operating system. I then logged onto 192.168.0.1 and logged in as "admin" and "password" and accessed the network name and password. SO HAPPY !!!!!!! And thankful that the Netgear C6300 has a "connect with WPS" button. LIFESAVER thank you Netgear! But seriously Netgear I shouldn't have to pay $50 for customer service after 90 days of owning the product. That was a simple fix and I didn't need to spend 4 hours doing that.
