Setting up a new home network that includes a smart TV

I am setting up a new home network that will include my home office, my husbands music work and our smart TV (after 40 years of fighting Big Cable we have cut the cable). I have some tech savvy but the cable modem and smart TV together are pushing me out of my comfort zone. Any words of wisdom? Thank you.

  • I have 3 Smart TV, here's my words of wisdom.

Use an Ethernet cable between your router and TV. If you can't / don't want to run an Eternet cable between the TV and router, pick up 2 powerline adapters (google  AV2 powerline adpaters). A Smart TV only needs about 25 - 30Mbps to allow for, 4K streaming. Also, consider Reserving an IP address on the router for the Smart TV.
