Slow internet speed with ethernet connection
I recently upgraded my inernet speed to 150Mbps; using the IPS equipment to test the connection, we got 179 Mbps
My Netgear N300 C3000-100NAS WiFi cable modem router gives me maximum 47 Mbps when hardwired with an ethernet cable.
My firmware is current and all other settings appear to be correct.
Next steps or suggestions anyone ... many thanks

Try one or more of the following:
- Try a different Ethernet cable.
- Reset the cable modem to factory defaults.
- Disable the use of any Security controls, like Block Sites and Block Services.
- Disconnect any USB devices from the cable modem.

Tx for the suggestions TheEther
#1 - this is the same cable that provided 179Mbps when we tested the Xfinity equipment, so I'll rule that out.
#2 - already tried this
#3 - no additional security controls
#4 - no USB devices connected to modem; using two USB ports on computer for printer and keyboard/mouse, but makes no difference.
Late last night Netgear agreed to send a new unit for the price of shipping.

It appears the modem/router is design defective; I have now tried three different modems, the last two sent by Netgear. They all get no more than 45-47 Mbps.
Finally I got referred to Level 2 support - why the heck this did not happen the first time, I don't know. I am now awating the engineer's solution.
This has been a very poor Netgear experience - I can hardly recommend their products.
