slow speed with ethernet cable
All
I am not a technical person
Having said that
I hooked up the ethernet cable from the Netgear router to my 1 year old Vizio TV, Pretty straight forward hook up.
When I do a speed test I get between of only 15-16 Mbps
I am paying for 150 Mbps from Comcast and there are no help
I did read that changing the channel might help so I changed it to channel 4 ~ no difference made,
Should I do a reset?
Please ~ I need some BASIC direction.

What hardware are you using? Your footer says C6300 but your message is in the General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk) section.
Is it only the TV that is slow?

I don't know what you read or where you read it, but Ethernet doesn't use "channels" in the same way that wifi does.

Update:
How do I update the firmware?
Does the ISP have to do it on their end or is it something I can do from Netgear Genie?
This may be my issue with slow speed with ethernet cable attached per netgear support before I was cutoff.
Thanks for any and all feedback
