Stolen router

Hello, my router (which is registered to me) was stolen recently. I am wondering if there is a way to change the password remotely/ reset or lock it so that the person who has it cannot use it? I have already opened a case: # 28097747. When I called with that case #, the call disconnected after 10 minutes on hold (once the phone finally started ringing), then I was disconnected after 6 minutes the second time. I have now been on hold for 45 minutes when the estimated wait time was 15 minutes. Please advise if anyone has suggestions or has had any luck getting Netgear CS to help with an open case.

  • You're out of luck.  There's no way to remotely lock a router.  Besides, there is a button that will reset it to factory settings.  Time to move on and buy a new router.

  • SO let me get this right . Your saying that even with all information to cooporate the need to search ,such as MAC,S/N, model, and proximity .There is absolutly no way this device can be located? Gosh great advancement in Technology ,easy to compromise .

Router does not contail any detrimental information.  Any way I am wondering how is the router stolen. Is your place of residence robbed or what?
