Time to update my system

Hi all, I would like a wired setup with a WiFi access point. I would like a wired router with all the bells and whistles of the xr700 or xrm500 with more ports and then a hard wired WiFi point put in the middle of my bungalow. I don't see any sign of a gaming wired router any where by anybody? All have WiFi and a lack of ports the xr700 has more ports but does not incorporate mesh making this not future proof and the xrm500 has a lack of ports . Any thoughts as i need to upgrade soon due to working from home

Why don't you get the xr500 and a switch (for more ports)? Then you could just add an orbi setup to it and run the orbi in access point mode.

I haven't seen/heard of any dumaOS systems that have mesh like orbi so far.

The orbi set up would be no more than a very expensive switch.
The night hawk switch and night hawk extender would be my personal choice but that still leaves the problem of the hub to feed the AP and switches.
The 500 just doesn't have the ports and the 700 doesn't work with the ex7700. Either unit I would turn off the wifi as it is in a dead zone in the house (celotex partition walls) and use the extender as AP

External Gb LAN switches are inexpensive, you can get any model router you wish then connect up a external switch for more ports. I have 24 port behind my router.

At the moment I have 3 ports of my hub feeding three rooms which each have an 8 port switch . The fourth port feeds my sonos mesh . Of my computer room switch I feed two other rooms that also have 8 port switches . Everything will go through the hub and I require a managed hub/switch that works with the new nighthawk / duma system

Most broadband accesses the house in the worst place for wifi outside wall corner room. I find it strange that my ideal setup up hasn't been contemplated before an 8 port non wireless, managed hub with an one of the ports specifically designates for wifi access point (One cat wire to the best position for your wifi AP) a master and slave setup
