Timeing out problem

Upgrade my Comcast service from 120 Mbps to 235 Mbps.

My C 6300 says transfer rate is 144 Mbps

Is this why I have time out problems and lots of 'hesitations'?

Netgear says C6300 will do up to 680 Mbps.

How do I fix the problem?

    You may need to check with your ISP it may need a modem that has more downstream channels in order to get higher speeds. As for the timeouts what are you seeing in the modem logs?
