Were you previously getting two IP addresses from TWC? Most ISPs will only give you one address unless you pay extra. Perhaps TWC recently discovered that they were giving you two and revoked one of them. In any case, Netgear is probably correct on this one. You need a router. Is the modem a pure modem or a modem/router?
I'm not sure. I can only assume that I had just one IP address.
