Cable modem routers aren't user updatable. Its part of the docsis spec.
The isp gets supplied the firmware but its up to them to certify it and push it out.
You can compare you're current version to what the isp supports.
Or you could go more into details on the actual issue you're having (not updating firmware) and we can see if we can help you.

Thank you. You've actually updated me with more infor in 2 minutes than Spectrum or I was able to find in 3 hours. Surpised to see that Spectrum isn't supporting the latest firmware version.

Other than firmware, what actual issue were you running into?
Alot of things can be helped/fixed with optimizing the connection or changing some settings.
- JamesM669Feb 28, 2022TutorThe last few nights my internet had been dropping out completely and intermittently. I would reboot the router and it would allow me to stream for about 5 minutes and then the app I was watching would start buffering and then an error message (unable to play video) would eventually pop up. At first I thought it was the Apple TV 4K crashing, so I would reboot that. Then I tried deleting and reinstalling the apps (Sky News, Paramount+, HBO Max & Prime Video). All would work for a few minutes and then stop.
I checked to see if Apple had any outages - none reported. Then checked to see it Spectrum were having issues - none reported. Then it dawned on me that the firmware could need updating. And the rest is history.
Of course, all is working normally as of this posting with no updated firmware pushed from Spectrum.

what router do you have?
Does it only happen over a wireless connection or does wired have the same issue?Do you have a screen snip of the modems event log and cable connections page? (helps us check the connection)
