    Hello mtcoleman1

The isp does all the updates for firmware so if there is a firmware update all you would have to do is unplug your modem and plug it back in and it will auto update.

I purchased my router from Amazon.  It was not provided by my ISP.  I need to change the primary and secondary DNS servers for NBC programming through my Roku.  I saw on the comunity that updating my firmware was required to make DNS changes.  Thanks for your help.

That model does not look like it has the option to change the DNS it will use the one from the isp and even though you bought the modem the isp still controls the firmware but have you tried changing the DNS server in the roku itself?
