VPN capable Cable Modem Router

This is more of a questions for the community if these even exsist.

I'm looking for a cable modem router that has VPN capabilites as an all in one package. Ive been looking through forums and articles and nothing seems to match what I'm looking for. Are these even a thing? If so, what models are affordable. I'm looking to spend around $300 max. Thanks for the suggestions/information

What type of vpn are you planning on using? Some of them require their own firmware be installed to truly be a vpn. modem/router combo devices don't allow this function because of the docsis spec.

VPN's that function on router level usually (haven't found any that don't) require their own firmware/ddwrt on the router.

Some routers support it out of the box. But i havent seen any from netgear that do.

If you're planning on using a VPN, I'd recommend getting a router seperate from the modem. Otherwise the ISP controls the firmware and you can't install your own to it.
