What internet provider speed can nighthawk C7000V2 handle

Hey all,

Essentially Cox is telling me that my C7000V2 Nighthawk is not compatable with their 500MBPS internet package because it is to slow. The only reason I want this package is it is 40-30$ cheaper than my current 300 MBPS package and still cheaper than the 150 MBPS package. Overall I am very happy with this combo router / modem

Netgear boast that it can handel speeds up to 960 MBPS. if you look the item up you can download a PDF of it's specs from the netgear website.I have copy and pasted the specs below.

Amazon states only 400 MBPS in the description

Who is right? what should I do? call cox up and tell them they are wrong? Or is netgear false advertising? Or am I just really missing something?

Thanks in advance,

J
