Whenever the router looses connection to the ISP, it reboots

I've been experiencing a similar issue with Spectrum since I bought this router. Whenever the router looses connection to the ISP, it reboots...BUT the problem is that it fails to fully restart. I have to logon to the router as if it is being configured for the first time a real pain in the...  I have to re-enter and verify the password and authentication questions in order for the Wireless clients to get Internet access. I waste more than an hour after this happens as most of my wireless clients need to be re-started in order to reconnect. The other annoying thing is that the router looses the pre-set DHCP range (Goes back to default), the address reservation table is cleared and most of the names given to the attached devices disappear. I have to waste another hour or so re-entering this data. Yes, I have backup the configuration with the latest firmware version installed, but restoring from the backup does not restore the previously saved DHCP range, address reservation table or the names for the attached devices.

I have learned to live with these router issues for a while now as it has been running for a month or so at a time, but in the past 3 nights at around 3 AM my router have been rebooting with what I believe are  DoS Attacks based on the messages in the log. Now my issue is that I can't Factory Reset the router using the reset button in the back. I'm starting another thread with that issue.

That's by design. If the signal on the Coax line stops, drops or looses connection with the ISP service, the entire modem reboots until the signal is restored. You'll need to contact your ISP for help regarding any coax signal line issues.

Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status page.

Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. Be sure the ISP provisions the modem correctly.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
Be sure to power OFF the modem for 1 minute then back ON.

In the past couple nights at about 3am my router, connected to Spectrum in NYC, has been restarting with what I believe are DoS Attacks messages in the log. Trying to follow some of the suggestions in this forum I attempted to Factory Reset the CAX80 using the Reset Button on the back of the router. I have pressed the reset button while the router is on for several time intervals ranging from 7 sec to 1 minute, but no cigar. I have unplugged the router and re-plugging it while holding the reset button... no cigar either. I have left the router off for an hour or so and try pressing that button in many ways, but all the router does is reboot. After re-authenticating to the router using the Web Interface... it comes back with the same wireless configuration (SSID names and passwords) and some of the previous configuration. I have also re-installed firmware 2.1.3.7, but I'm still unable to fully reset the router after I re-install the firmware.

Maybe I missed something... Is there a specific process I need to Factory Reset a CAX80 that I missed? One more thing, when the router reboots after the factory reset attempts, it displays a banner saying that there's a Firmware Update available... my router is at version 2.1.3.7 the latest version available... as far as I know.

I've been living with what I believe is a firmware-defective product expecting that Netgear would eventually address some of the issues I have discussed in other threads with a firmware update. Given that this router was advertised as one of their flagship products, I'm surprised by the lack of router-side firmware updates. The modem-side firmware has been solid with Spectrum. Holding on because I can't justify expending another $400 for a new router. But I'm starting to wonder how much longer I can hold on to a router with unfulfilled potential.

Try using the ERASE button under Backup menu on the modems web page to factory reset...
