Wired Connection a lot slower than 5G WiFi
I've been running into a weird issue where my wired download speeds are much lower than my 5G WiFi speeds. When I hardwire the router to my laptop, it says the connection is the same name as the 2.4G...

What, exactly, says what, exactly? Did you just plug in an Ethernet
cable, or did you also tell the (unspecified) "my laptop" to use the
wired interface? "same as 2.4G WiFi" could be easy to explain if you're
still using your 2.4GHz wireless network.
- BDriftyDec 04, 2018AspirantWhen I plug an Ethernet cord into the port, it gives that connection the same name (and speeds) as the 2.4 wireless band. It caps at like 80 megs wired. How can I get the wired connection to have the same speeds as my 5G wireless band? That's the goal. It does it on my Xbox, not my PCs.
- BDriftyDec 04, 2018AspirantMain issue is I shouldn't be getting 80/10 speeds on a Wired connection if I'm able to pull 300/20 on 5G wireless. Wired should always be faster.

Not if your (unspecified) "my laptop" has a 100MHz wired connection.
What do the port-status LED indicators on the router indicate?- BDriftyDec 04, 2018AspirantIt lights up green just like the port designated to the Xbox One. I was able to get 300/20 on my previous modem/router combo on both laptops, but not with the Netgear one. I can only achieve the desired speeds on the Xbox One or the 5GHz wifi band with this one. Again, both PCs utilize Gig Ethernet ports as well.
