WNR2000v5 trying to get it to recognize modem
Trying to connect this router to a modem it hasn't seen before, followed all the on line instructions up until connection to a computor. The instructions then said open new broswer on computor and follow further instructions..........no further instructions came up

Are you reading the manual, install guide?
If you go to the install guide it says to type in routerlogin.net and follow the setup process. Did you type that in?
If you're not able to do that the manual has the manual install process as well that you can try.
