Xbox Series X will not connect to CAX30 modem router (wired)
Just got a new modem router, the Netgear Nighthawk CAX30. Seems really cool, the wireless seems to be running fine. Main issue here is, the wired connection I have for my Series X isn't working at al...
do any other devices have issues connecting wired?
did you try a different ethernet cable?
also, you might try checking the xbox forums as there's a ton of posts on google about "xbox series x wired not working"
One common fix it theme I've seen is: Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it
So I realized something. When my laptop is connected, the associated port number on my modem is consistently lit. When my Xbox is connected, it is only sporadically lit, so this is most definitely a weird interaction with the Series X specifically. Not sure if that helps in any way in terms of info, but the issue is not the cable or modem. This also didn't happen with my previous modem so I don't think it is a hardware issue in regards to the Xbox either. It is so strange.
Does the same LAN cable that the laptop connected with, work with the Xbox or same issue?
If this same xbox did this with the last modem, maybe a Xbox issue as the problem seems to travel with the xbox.
