Xfinity gigabit issues CM1000/RM6900
Long story short is I had Comcast come and set up gigabit service about a month ago and the service has been terrible ever since they activated it. Using my routers speed test/Xfinity speedtest/and my PS4 pros speed test my downloads speed range from 25-50mbs (on the PS4) (with a cat 6 cable directly connected) and up to 200 using my router speedtest.
I have a cm1000 modem and r6900 router. Looking at this forum for other people having similar issues it looks like it's tied to the cm1000 but I haven't really found anyone who's figured it out. My condo unit is brand new construction and Xfinity physically came here to lay the cable. The only thing I can think of is the fiber optic cable the builders put on the condo units isn't rated for gigabit. I'm not sure how I'd be able to tell. The modem is updated to the most current firmware for sure. I really don't think my router is the issue.
I've called Comcast who has pretty much told me that everything on their end is fine and have to contact Netgear.
I was wondering if anyone who has had a similar issue might be able to steer me in .
the right direction.

Disconnect the R series router and connect a wired PC to the back of the CM modem. Power off the modem for 30 seconds then back on. Speed test with Ooklas speed test app for Windows or Apple. See if your speeds are good here or not.
- Redsox3595AspirantI've tried this a few times already. I get the same speeds roughly by plugging into the modem directly. That's why I'm pretty sure it's not my router.

Make sure there are no coax cable line splitters between the ISP service box and the modem.
Swap LAN cables when testing directly to the modem.
Return the modem for another to see if problem continues.
