R7800 remote connexion via ios genie app
Hello everyone,
I have installed the ios Netgear genie app on my phone in order to connect to the router from outside my home. I can connect from outside via the internet browser without any problems.
With the ios netgear genie app, I can connect to the router when I'm connected to my router's wifi. When I try to connect from outside home via the ios app, I enter my email and password and the app says that an email has been sent to me to confirm my netgear account. I never receive that email. I've obviously cheched in spam and nothing.
Is there anything else to configure in my Netgear account? In my router?
I'm kinda stuck with no ideas... Thanx!
Hi Beltran,
1. What is the firmware version of the router?
2. Have you tried using another device (Android, another iOS, PC, Mac)?
3. Please make sure the steps linked below are followed.

4. Have you tried using another email?
Regards,
Dexter

Did you set up remote management on the router?
There is a manual for the R7800 somewhere at the end of this link:
>>> R7800 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<
See page 99.

Hi Michael,
The remote access is activated and it works since I can connect through my web browser from outside my home.
In the ios app I am stuck at my account validation, the confirmation email is never sent (and it is not in my spam box). My netgear account is validated since I can post on this forum, register my router, etc

Unfortunately, Netgear confuses us all on that front.
I have one account here on the forum, another on MyNetgear and different accounts for its Arlo and DDNS services. I am gradually converting those outside this forum to the same logins, even though that is not recommended practice.
