FTP for Clients

I set up a FTP on my home computer and I am using the PL1000 model to connect my PC to the internet. My problem is my FTP will not work over the powerline product. I have the ports forwarded to my local IP address but will not connect. I have done this in the past so I know what I am doing networking wise. I also have a sql server on my PC and I can,t connect to it either. Any help?

Thanks,

Bob

  • Are you implying that FTP works if you plug your PC directly into your router, but it does not work in conjunction with the PL1000?  The PL1000 is just a bridge, so it should not interfere with the IP networking layer.

Thank you for your response. I haven't tried that because I moved to a new house and it was working with the router I am currently using at my old house which was directly plugged into the router. My external IP address changed but not the local address. The only change is the PL 1000. I though maybe the ports weren't being forwarded through the PL1000.
