I have tried everything to connect to mywifiext net and it always says I'm not connected -PLW1000 v2

I have tried connecting via ethernet, connecting via wifi, two different browsers, moving the range extender to the same room almost right next to the router, and I tried logging into the range extenders ip address which we found through logging into our router. But when I try any username and password I can think of when accessing the wifi extender's ip address via the url search bar, it says 401 access denied incorrect authorisation.

Does factory resetting the extender do anything to this password, or does it literally just reboot the extender. I'm at a loss and need help ASAP.

Also this extender is second hand and has been used before so maybe that doesn't help.

to reset, push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on. The lights on it should change when held long enough.

That'll get you back to factory to where you can reinstall it

It wipes out any settings and returns the device to its default settings.

This is essential if you have acquired a second hand device. You need to wipe out any old settings from the previous owner.

I assume that you have the "host" powerline plug wired to the router and that the "remote" plug (the AP one) shows a connection with its green LEDs.

Just another user with time on their hands.
