Multiple Powerline Adapters

I put them all in the same room and they all synced up after about 3 tries, thank you, it works!

Great. With luck you can now put them where you like and they will still talk to each other.

yes, ive moved them around to different parts of the townhouse and they are working! one room im assuming is too far from the hub so it wont light up but when i connect it outside of the room to an outlet in the hallway it works.

It may be something odd with the wiring. These things do depend on what the electricians did when they wired the place.
Distance isn't usually an issue so much as something isolating the socket from the main fuse box.
It is not exactly a science. For example, Netgear advises against using plugs on extension leads. All of mine of an an extension lead and they all work just fine.
