My NETGEAR POWERLINE AV500 not working properly

Recently my Netgear hasn’t worked consistently, i have it connected via ethernet to my gaming console. My ping keeps jumping and sometimes the wifi stops working completely for a while, until i manually unplug it and plug it back for it to work. I’ve also noticed that the middle LED light with the plug sign (LED POWERLINE) is always orange colored.

This indicates a slow link between the Powerline plugs. Netgear advises not putting plugs on mains extension cables. I find that this is not a hard and fast rule and happily use extension blocks, but you could try moving the wifi plug to another socket to see if that makes any difference.

That would narrow it down to a mains problem rather than a hardware issue.
