NETGEAR ProSAFE GS116NA

I purchased NETGEAR ProSAFE GS116NA from Amazon..  The Cable company installed an ARRIS DG2470 Touchstone Gateway with 4 ports.  When I connect my unmanaged switch to the Gateway from the Cable company I lose all internet connectiviy from the Wireless and Ethernet.  is there a specfic port that I need to connect to on the ARRIS or my Netgear switch?  I'm stummped..  is the switch compatible to the gateway?

For a managed switch I would agree that you need a crossover. But this one is unmanaged so my thought was it would act as a pass through.

I'll try it and see what happens

  • Yeah I have no knowledge of the Arris gateway but thought it might be worth a try
