PL1200 won't show up on my adapter list

I just recently had to reinstall windows because it was damaged by force restarting my computer and that caused all my settings to be erased. I had been happily connected to the Powerline before, but now I am stuck being connected using my wireless adapter. I don't know what I did last time to get my computer to connect using the Powerline, but I am unable to get it to work again now.

Ok, so that helped me a ton. I looked online and apparently under Device Manager, my ethernet cable should not be labeled as Ethernet Controller, but it is. It says it needs an update, but I am not sure how I might go about getting that update when I tried to scan the internet for it, but it didn't work.

If you don't know the make and model of your motherboard run the Belarc adviser free software:

        http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

From that you can identify your motherboard details.  Once you have these go to the manufacturer's website and download network adapter drivers and install.

        Hope this helps

Exactly as you said, I just had to go download a couple drivers, and boom, connected. Thanks a lot!
