PLW 1000 FIRMWARE UPDATE 1.0.1.6 NOT WORKING

Bought in the UK - Devce states PLW1000 and instructions show EX6100 Wifi Range Extender...... both have different firmware updates bit that's an aside.

Received email for update this 30th March to update to 1.0.1.6 and yesterday internet just in the room where we use the extender started dropping out.

My current netgear PLW1000 is on V1.0.0.6 despite initial release being 1.0.0.18.......?? Have never had previous update emails.

Have downloaded release and saved to desktop, every time I upload the release file to device, web browser closes and that's it game over.....when I click on IMG file it states 'Couldn't Mount File' 'The disc image file is corrupted'

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Can you access the browser interface to get into the controls of the PLW1000?

Have you looked at the release notes?

    See step 3.

It isn't something that you click on. Do that and depending on what you run, Windows or Mac, the operating system is likely to interpret it as something else.

The idea is to use the browser interface to load it on to the hardware.

Hi - thanks for the response

I managed to log onto Netgear as per Release Notes Step 3, I then browsed file, located and pressed upload - at this point the browser just disappears - no loading bar or anything.

I've then cleared the cache as per release notes and logged back onto NetGear software and it's still the old version......

Just in case ... the history of attemting to mount the img file does indicate a Mac user ... try a different browser than Safari, something like Chrome or Firefox.
