power line but no lights on!

I have a power line AV500 netgear which has stopped showing any lights on it. I have tried resetting it but to no avail. I contacted the Netgear website support page and hit the 'live chat' button. I asked my question and was told that I had come through to the wrong group and she would transfer me to the correct one. That person again told me that I had come through to the wrong group (even though I had supposedly been transferred to her as being the wright one) and then promptly disconnected. So I have neither a working product nor much of a positive attitude to their support group. Can anyone out there help me?.
