Powerline 1000 PL 1010 causes slow network throughout the house

Hi All,

I have 4 Powerline 1000 PL 1010  adapters installed around the house. 3 of them work very good and I get ~50Mbps up/down link (with Verizon Fios 50/50 link).

The 4th one is causing serious network issues all around the home network when used.

It doesn’t matter in which room it’s connected – the impact is the same.

When it was connected in the bedroom, pinging the router box from any device / computer in the house (either via Ethernet or Wifi) would yield very jittery ping RTT: ~20-2000 ms and a lot of packet loss.

The same happened when this particular adapter was connected to the grid from other rooms.

In every room I tested, it was connected directly to the wall.

The problem gets even worse when I’m using the Skype applications installed on my PC in the home office. In this case, I lose network connection almost immediately on my PC.

I tried the Factory Reset few times – it didn’t help.

Has anyone experienced a similar behavior?

Could this be a faulty product?

Thanks.

    Hi sh1ff,

Would it be possible if you could interchange the other working powerline adapter with the one that is not working? On the area where the working powerline is connected, replace it with the powerline that you mentioned having problems and use the working powerline on the are where you want that powerline to work. Check and observe the connection.

I've done it and results are the same.

      Thanks.

        Hi sh1ff,

If the only problem is one adapter and others are working, I would suggest contacting support for replacement in your device is still within hardware warranty.
