Netgear, and other makers, seem to seel plugs in pairs, rather than singletons.
Remember, when adding new plugs to an existing network, you need to follow this advice:

Hello Michelle2065,
Be aware that if you add another CPL PLP2000 on you network, the bandwith between all CPLs is going to decrease drastically. Its' a big issue with this model. Each time you add a CPL to your network the bandwith decrease. If you have more than 4 CPLs connected at the same time the bandwith is near 0 Mb/s.
Please read carefully the others topics on this community about this model of CPL. We were many people to buy these CPLs and we have no answer from the support/labs Netgear to correct this problem of conception.
Keep only 2 CPLs no more if you don't want to be very disappointed.
