Powerline 2000
I am connecting my Powerline 2000 to get higher speeds for a gaming computer. I have a modem which is direct wired to the cable/internet company. This is hooked up to a Netgear Wireless Router. How do I connect the Powerline 2000 - into the modem or into the wireless router, or both?

Is there an A6150 involved here? Is the actual model number of the
Powerline device "PLP2000"?> [...] I have a modem [...]
Has it a maker and model number?

Has this router a model number? Where are these devices situated?

Do you have _one_ Powerline adapter?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model
number(s), and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual(s). Read.> [...] to get higher speeds for a gaming computer. [...]
"higher" than what?

(one adapter to each device) which you wish you could connect using a
simple Ethernet cable.
If you're trying to use Powerline adapters to connect your
(unspecified) "a gaming computer" to your router using a pseudo-wired
connection (instead of a wireless radio connection), then you'd connect
one Powerline adapter to a LAN Ethernet port on the router, and another
Powerline adapter to an Ethernet port on the (unspecified) "a gaming
computer". Read the User Manual for the Powerline adapter. Really.

As the manual says, plug cable from PLP2000 into router. That's the usual strategy, but not knowing what the modem and router are, who knows?
Have you tried it?

Did you actually look at "the manual"? (Which "the manual"?)

That might be good for one Powerline adapter. What good is that if
it's the _only_ Powerline adapter? If you have a second one, then what
would you advise doing with it? (Hint: Actually read the adapter User
Manual.)> [...] That's the usual strategy, [...]
Perhaps for some of us.

If the modem is a modem, and the router is a router (without any
built-in Powerline capability), then it hardly matters. And, if the
router did have built-in Powerline capability, then that "the usual
strategy" would be an error.
