Powerline 500 XAV5421 no internet connection - Router problem?
Hi,
I have owned the Powerline 500 for several years and prior to moving to a new home I have had zero issues. They have been flawless. Since purchasing the 500s I have lived at multiple addresses with different internet service providers with different routers. However, since moving address 3 years ago, I went with a new provider (Sky) and have a new router and the 500s will not work. I have factory reset both and the power and pick a plug lights are on but when I am connected to the router and device the internet light only shows up on the device (games console) one. The one connected to the router just shows the PAP and power light - no Ethernet light appears on the router either and I have no internet at the games console. I borrowed a different manufacturer of Powerline and these worked without issue.
I recently moved house again and I got a new Sky router (same model) and I have the same problem. I acquired brand new Powerline 1000s - PLP1000 and I have exactly the same symptoms! Again I have borrowed the alternative manufacturer ones and these work without issue.
Is there a chance the issue is with the model of router or the router settings? Any help is very much appreciated!

Do you see the same thing if you swap the plugs around?
One thing that sometimes throws people is that the Ethernet LED doesn't come on on the remote plug unless you plug something into it. But that won't apply in the case of a connection to the router.
Just another user with time on their hands.
- AStone19AspirantThanks for the reply. Yeah, I have tried all the devices every way round and no joy unfortunately.

One possible cause could be that the router’s Ethernet port isn't detecting the adapter, which can be linked to port settings or hardware behavior. Or you may need to check the router's settings to ensure that DHCP is enabled to assign an IP address correctly to the Powerline adapters.
- AStone19AspirantThanks for the reply. I’ve just logged into the routers settings and can see two options related to DHCP in LAN related settings. Both are currently selected. 1: “Use Router as DHCP Server”
2: “Enable IPv6 DHCP Server”
I could change these around but they look like they should be enabled…
