Move what? Router? Plug?&nbsp;You can put the router where you like but the plug has to be connected to it.&nbsp;Then you can put other things on the second (or third or more) powerline adapter.&nbsp;

cable modem is in one room and I want to move the router to another room. can't change the modem location it's a fixed cable entery point.&nbsp;&nbsp;add a powerline adapter to modem in one room and add the powerline adapter to the router in another room. &nbsp;the powerline adaplter is pluged into the router where the modem normally plugs in directly. This I believe would create the connect to the router and the modem.&nbsp;Then add other&nbsp;powerline adaplters in order to connect more&nbsp;devices to the router.&nbsp;Its the physical connnections to the router and modem I need help with in order to make this idea work if at all possible. &nbsp;

If you do use the powerplug to feed the router, then remember to plug it into the router's network/internet socket, not one of the LAN ports.&nbsp;We don't know what router you are using, or the modem, so this is still guesswork.&nbsp;Another way to do it would be to leave the router&nbsp;where it is and to use powerline plugs where you need internet access. If you need wifi, then use powerline devices that double as wifi access points.&nbsp;
