Powerline AV500 not working on iMac OS Sierra

Did you have the Powerline stuff working before you went for the Mac?

 

The Powerline device does not control IP addresses, that is down to the modem/router. That is probably a good place to look for solutions.

That makes sense if the Mac insists on using a particular IP address. Can you troubleshoot by using a direct LAN connection to the router? That will confirm if this is a Powerline problem or down to a fight between the Mac and the router.
