Powerline Utility

The Netgear Powerline Utility issues a message 'No device in the Network' when trying to locate the adapters. Previously this software worked on XAV5401 devices, then became unable to access them, and now can't access PL1000 V2.

Please advise how I can diagnose and resolve the problem.

Thanks.

What are you trying to do?

One way into Netgear Powerline devices is to use the desktop genie, look at its network map, click the Powerline icon and then right click on the devices you want to play with.

There is also a ZyXEL utility that will perform things like disabling sleep mode.

Netgear seems to have abandoned creating its own Powerline utility.

      Thanks.

All I am trying to do is establish the bit rates of the powerline links connecting my router to to 4 x pl1000.

I have netgear genie installed but don't see any reference to powerline.

Not sure that you'll find that out. In any case, speeds are down to the devices on the network. The manual has the specifications.

There is a Powerline User Manual somewhere at the end of this link:

        >>>> PLW1010v2 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<<

Which Netgear genie? The desktop genie that I referred to has Powerline on the Network Map.

See the row of icons top right. Your devices will probably show up as UNKNOWN. But it will not tell you much. Nor did the original Powerline utility.
