Setting Up a set Power 500 adapters

Hi,

I puchased a set of 2 powerline 500 adapters and just tried to set them up in my home. The problem is I can't get them to connect to each other. First I tried to put them each in the rooms I wanted, one in my living room where the router is, and one in my office. The power LED on both turned on no problem. On one of the adapters the pick a plug LED turns on immediately (before the other adapter is even plugged in) and then turns off after about 10 seconds. The other adpater the pick a plug LED never turns on. Although I'veheard that issues with old power mains could casue problems with these adapters, I don't think this is the case here as my house is a new construction (built within the last 6 momths.) Nevertheless I plugged both adapters INTO THE SAME OUTLET to see if that would work with but I got the same result as before. What gives?

If the pick a plug LEDs don't come on, it sounds like broken hardware to me.

I'd try a factory reset. If that fails, return the plugs for a replacement.

There is a manual for the XWNB5201 somewhere at the end of this link:
