XWN5001 and XAV5201 not working

I've had the product for 11 months and it's worked fine (every now and again have to turn off and on which works) however all of a sudden it's not and my go to off and on doesn't work. Nothing has changed, still use the same plug just all of a sudden stopped working.
It shows currently I'm connected to the Netgear extension and the wifi is signal is showing full bars however I'm not able to access the internet (every now and again I'm unable to connect to the Netgear Ext although there is full wifi signal showing)
The LED on the XWN5001 are all solid with the powerline LED Red at the moment, even when it is green it makes no difference.
The Powerline LED for the XAV5201 though is not on and am guessing this is the issue. It's connected through the Ethernet to the router and the router is working absolutely fine.
I have followed the reset process several times and last night it started working with all LED's on but stopped again this morning with same issues.
I have called Netgear support and as I'm outside the 90 days from purchase period for assistance they will charge me and although I'm still under hardware warranty they are saying there is no hardware issue as lights are on.
For them to assist it will cost £60 but I can buy a new product cheaper so makes no sense to ask for the assistance.
Any advice most welcomed as this is last chance saloon for me before buying something new. I'm not tech savvy so dumbed down instructions is appreciated, literally just use the product to boost wifi upstairs to use mobile and tablet.
Many thanks

    Hi Eiz,

    1. What are the lights on for XAV5201?

    2. Make sure to press the reset button while the adapter is still plugin.

    3. Have you mentioned to support team that the power is not lighting up?
