A8000 makes PC lag
Things I've tried:
- Reinstalling driver
- Disabled built-in Intel adapter
- Disabled auto-config through command prompt
- Disabled turning off adapter setting in both adapter settings in Network settings and in power settings
None of these have worked. Here are some things that may or may not be relevant that I've found:
- No netgear process in task manager in processes or services
- The netgear folder in Program Files (x86) only has 2 text files
- No netgear process in services.msc
I did find another thread about the A7000 about CPU spikes, and they found that using an older driver fixed their issue. The problem is there is only one driver available for the A8000 and in the release notes, it says it's the initial driver.

While it helps to have a list of things you've tried, I can't see what the problem is beyond your subject, which is a bit thin on details for diagnosing what might be happening.

The CPU, disk usage, and memory usage spike. The computer is very slow in all programs, including programs that don't use the internet, like file explorer. It lags when typing and scrolling in both programs that use the internet and ones that don't use the internet and sometimes when moving the cursor as well. Programs that use the internet, like browsers, are so slow that the net effect is that they're slower than without the adapter.
