Any update on the A6200 genie issue for windows 10
Hey guys, I've been checking round the forums and i haven't found any recent commments on whether the issues with the genie disconnecting has been resolved, I know about the stand-alone's but some of those are super janky and have the same issues
Cheers

I think its borderline criminal that Netgear has not done anything to formally adress this issue. Their support team should go on "dancing with the stars" because they would suely win! Anyway, I went far beyond anything that has been previously recommeded here when I was able to get two other vendor's drivers working with the A6200; however, they both exhibited the frequent disconnects that everyone is still complaining about. FYI, the reason I was able to do this is because there are 6 other adapters that use the same Broadcom/Skyworks configuration; however, none of them offer a Windows 10 driver. And, btw, the Netgear driver is dated from 2013 so that's why I tried the other vendors drivers (which had later dates).
Anyway, its game, set, match for me. I just threw mine in the trash. I should have listened to all the complaints before I bough this unit; however, I was hoping I could be one of the 40% that could actually get this working but I ended up in the 60% "frequent disconnects club" instead. No bigge... I'm movin on...
Cheers!

Known issue. Just use free standing driver without Genie. Deinstall everyting, reinstall free standing driver. You should throw the Genie into trash.
Not the adapter, LOL!

Thats right. its not a costly car that can be recalled for fixing. If you face issues and in warranty go to the store and get it replaced or rma it.
Matter closed.
- mondenathProdigyIt's probably bad adapter. I never had issues with the adapter running win 10

You obviously have tunnel vision because your adapter works; however, more than 50% of us cannot get the adapter to work. At this point, it is not obvious as to why many of them do not work and Netgear has made no attempt to address this issue formally but they do keep selling them without any remorse. I don't understand why they don't start asking some simple questions like:
To the many who have A6200 adapters that don't work on Windows 10:
Are you running Win 10 x32 or x64?
Which version (ie, Home, Pro, etc.)
And they could ask many more specific questions to try and isolate "why some work and some don't."
But don't just assume the Ops is bad just because yours works!
Anyway, I threw mine in the trash and I bought one from another vendor that actually works!

there you go . Its bad adaptor.
I happens. Few products comes as bad. Nowadays sampling is horrible and nothing is tested to working.
I run on 64 bit 10 professional.
i did installed a beta version of genie/ driver and even before it was working fine.So i guess its bad abt the adaptor. I knew the win 10 support was not there for long time but the beta driver works now.
