I've been doing a lot of research and it seems like, for W8 and newer, ad hoc networks can only be created through the commands level netsh utility and they can only be created using a (tailored?) version of the MS Hosted Network Virtual Driver. From what I understand, each Hosted Network-ready adapter's driver should either include one of these when installed or trigger the OS to install one when the adapter is installed.
The AC6210 adapter is doing neither of these. Despite claiming to be capable of hosted network support, until a corresponding virtual driver is installed, it seems like this adapter will never be able to create ad hoc networks. That sucks a lot.
Netgear, or NG forum representatives, please advise.

Hi JazzMac251,
Welcome to Community!
I have checked the manual and I was not able to see any information for Ad hoc support. Please provide me the link of the information for Ad hoc support of this adapter.
