Can't stay connected to the internet when I launch a game

Hi guys,
I bought this netgear Genie a few weeks back, and I got a new computer. Ever since I put these two together it seems like I can't stay connected to the internet when I launch a game. The best way I can describe the issue is that the game would freeze, and I would get a notification (From Windows) that would say that I had just been connected to the internet, even though I was connected before. Sometimes, if my computer fails to "reconnect" to the internet in time, my game automatically disconnects me (Of course). This would happen at 10 to 20 minute intervals, and have happened 5 minutes apart, whether it be early in the morning or at peak hours.  There is nothing wrong with my internet, since before i got this new computer, I had a laptop that played smoothly, although no adapter was needed. I did download the Windows 10 pack on the main screen to try and help the problem, but that only cured it for 24 hours before the message kept popping up again.

(I did in fact bang it against the wall when taking it out of the computer a few times, just in case that has lead to my adapter acting strange.)

    Hi Karmaa29047,

    1. Did it happen only when you launch a game? How about when browsing websites or just accessing normal internet usage?

    2. Have you tried installing it on a different computer and see if the same problem happens?

    3. Is the driver used to install is the Windows 10 driver? Please check the support site.

  • 1.) No, it's not only when I launch a game, but it's more common. I'm barely ever on the web, but it does happen every once in a while while surfing the web, but it's much more common while playing.

2.) I can't try that because there is no other computers in the house except mine.

3.) Yes...I guess(?) I don't really understand that question. I use Windows 10, and attempted to download the Windows 10 driver.
