Constant Trouble with AC1200 Adapter

Since day one ive had problems with installing the drivers for this Netgear AC1200 wireless adapter. I even updated my USB 3.0 host ports drivers. I tried installing new drivers right now and it still asks me to insert adapter and it never detects it therefore i have to cancel installation? It works but recently ive been encountering lag spike so i wanted to update drivers to see if it may help and ill never know. Im using Win10 64bit. can somebody help me with this. i think its pretty damn petty that we have to pay somebody for a call in for customer support on a product i seriously just said screw it to and kept on using it even after it hasnt fully worked like it should.
