N300 WiFi USB Mini Adapter not detected on Windows 10

Have attempted to install the driver for this product on both a laptop and PC now. Each time it goes through the installation process until I'm instructed to plug in the adapter into my USB slot. I do so, and it sits trying to detect the device, but never finds it. The light on the adapter is not on. I've tried installing it with windows drivers. With the firewall on and off. With the antiirus on/off as well.

I'm running Windows 10.

This device was designed in the era of Windows XP. Maybe it doesn't work in Windows 10. That happened to some of my adapters.

Are you using the latest version of the software?

How about a different USB port? If Windows can't see it, there's not much that the software can do for you.
