N300 WiFi USB Mini Adapter not detected on Windows 7

Have attempt to install the driver for this product on PC now. Each time it goes through the installation process until I'm instructed to plug in the adapter into my USB slot. I do so, and it sits trying to detect the device, but never finds it. Additionally, the light on the adapter is not on.

 

I'm running Windows 7

    To isolate the problem, try to connect it on a different Windows 7 computer. If the said computer detects the adapter then try to disable anti-virus or firewall on the computer that is not working.

      Thanks a lot James...it worked once i removed the Zone alarm program from my computer. One more thing..if i reinstall Zone alarm once again..will the wifi adapter continue working?

        It should work but make sure if there is an option to exempt that adapter on the zeno alarm settings.
