Title: NETGEAR A7000/AC1900 Issues on Windows 11 – Network Adapter Not Working Properly
Hi everyone,
I’m encountering a frustrating issue with my NETGEAR A7000/AC1900 WiFi USB adapter on my Windows 11 PC. Here’s what’s happening:
- If I connect the adapter and reboot, Windows 11 fails to load properly. The taskbar turns black, and most functionalities stop working.
- If I uninstall the drivers, the PC works fine. However, as soon as I reinstall the latest or second-latest drivers from Netgear, the issue reappears.
- Interestingly, if I connect the adapter after the system has already booted, everything works fine, and I can use WiFi. However, Task Manager stops working while the adapter is connected.
I’m at a loss for what to do next. Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution?
Thank you for your help!
Hi, sorry for the long reply. I recently performed a Windows update, and it seems like the issue is now resolved—I’m no longer experiencing any problems with the adapter. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me, I really appreciate it!

One of a bunch of messages, some of them Solved, about issues with the A7000 and Windows.
Check the Recommendations bit at the bottom of these messages.

Hi, thank you for your response.
The issue you described doesn't seem to match my situation exactly. I can connect to a WiFi network without any problems (I’m actually using it to write this message). However, the suggested solution of resetting the computer feels a bit extreme.
Since I use my PC for work and have a lot of important data and software installed, resetting it would take a significant amount of time and effort to set everything back up again.
Do you think resetting the computer is the only solution, or is there another way to fix this issue?
Thank you in advance for your help!

what version of windows (24h2, 23h2, etc) are you on?
Have you tried other USB ports or trying a hub on bootup?
